Peyton Head, the president of the Missouri Students Association (student government) took down a post he made on Facebook saying that the Ku Klux Klan had been “confirmed to be sighted on campus”.
Head has since taken down the post without explanation.
The now deleted statement from the campus leader comes after a series of threatening messages were posted to the anonymous location-based messaging app, Yik Yak.
Here are what the messages said according to the Mizzou student government:

Reporters for the campus newspaper, the Maneater have been doing a terrific job sorting through fact and fiction as rumors have run rampant.

–The Miami Urban Future Initiative is a think tank that is 100% devoted to researching how to make South Florida better.
–A joint venture between FIU, the Knight Foundation and the Creative Class Group, it is connected to well known urbanist Richard Florida.
–The group produces white papers on topics relating to growth and development in the region.
–They consider “Miami” to be Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties.
–Operating under the theory that politicians don’t have a longterm view of the future, the group is trying to create data that can lead to better policy outcomes.
–It is run by Chris Caines- a former interim director of the Knight Foundation’s Miami Program and Michael Aquino, a Miami native who grew up in Wynwood before it was gentrified.
–The group hosts live events that are free to attend.

Millennial From Miami Among Those Killed In Bangladesh Terror Attack
Miami native Abinta Kabir was among the 20 killed in a terror attack in Dhaka, Bangladesh yesterday.
Kabir was killed in the attack at the Holey Artisan Bakery, a popular upscale destination that was full of foreigners at the time of the incident.
Kabir was a rising sophomore at Emory University and was one of two students killed from that institution in the attack.
Faraaz Hossain was the other Emory student killed.
“Abinta, who was from Miami, was a rising sophomore at Emory’s Oxford College,” A Facebook statement from Emory read. “Faraaz, who was from Dhaka, was a 2016 graduate of Oxford College and a student at the university’s Goizueta Business School.
“The Emory community mourns this tragic and senseless loss of two members of our university family. Our thoughts and prayers go out on behalf of Faraaz and Abinta and their families and friends for strength and peace at this unspeakably sad time.”
The Indian Government also said that one of its nationals with ties to an American college was killed in the attack.
Tarishi Jain was studying at the University of California Berkley according to the Indian Government.
According to the New York Daily News, Kabir was killed by terrorists in the bakery after she was unable to recite certain Quranic verses.
From the Daily News:
“Kabir’s cousin said the 18-year-old, who was born in Bangladesh, traveled to Dkaha earlier this week and planned to spend part of her summer vacation visiting family and friends.
She went to the café after Iftar, an evening meal Muslims eat during the month of Ramadan, to meet up with friends, Afsara Adiba said in a Facebook post.
“But she didn’t (come) back alive!” Adina wrote. “I just don’t get it she and the other people were innocent.””

Harper Lee Dies At Age 89
UPDATE: 11:07 AM EST
According to multiple sources, Harper Lee, the author of “To Kill A Mockingbird” has died at age 89.
Lee died in her hometown of Monroeville, AL according to AL.com.
Lee won the Pulitzer Prize for fiction in 1961 for “To Kill A Mockingbird” and lived a life that didn’t seek out the spotlight.
