You Are Now More Likely To Die Of Selfies Than Shark Attacks

More people have died taking selfies than in shark attacks in the past year, according to  The Telegraph and Mashable.

A record number of twelve people have died from various selfie related activities this year, such as posing with dangerous animals or loaded guns, compared to the eight people who died by shark attacks.

It has gotten so bad in places such as Russia, that the government has taken to issuing warnings to not take selfies on ledges or near moving vehicles.

In the United States, park rangers at Yellowstone National Park have started warning tourists to not pose with animals after five people have been gored by buffalo.

Most of the people that met a gory end via selfie were between the ages of 18 to 22. These tragic deaths have included taking selfies with wild animals, taking selfies from a great height, taking selfies with weapons, or taking selfies near moving machinery.

Be safe while you selfie.

No Internet, Casey Anthony Is Not Dead

Facebook has been awash in shares of a story about the death of Casey Anthony, the woman who in 2011 was found not guilty of murdering her young daughter in a trial that grabbed international headlines.

Could it be really true?

Well it is according to two so called “news” websites- and who posted identical stories.

From the two sites:

“According to “Unconfirmed reports coming out of Warren, Ohio state that the body of Casey Anthony was found in a rest stop near I-71, bludgeoned to death.  At 1:37 PM on Monday, a traveler noticed a body in the back of a pickup truck abandoned in a grassy field about 20 yards from the parking area as he was walking his dog. The man said as he approached the vehicle, there was a horrible stench in the air. He was shocked to find a young female, in her late 20’s to early 30’s, partially dismembered.”

The tale of Anthony’s untimely demise has been shared thousands times on Facebook and has been popping up on people’s news feeds for a few days now.

But Internet fact checker has called foul on the report, deeming it to be untrue and little more than an attempt to make money with click bait headlines.

From Snopes:

“This report is false: Casey Anthony has not died. Breaking News 13 is one of many fake news sites on the Internet that mimic the appearance of local television news outlets and publish fictitious stories masquerading as real news accounts in order to lure in readers and thereby generate social media shares and advertising revenue — and because of her controversial stature, Casey Anthony is a favorite subject for eyeball-grabbing headlines.”

Rise News called a number listed on the website to allow the operators a chance to respond, but it did not seem to be connected.

This Jeb Bush Video Is The “Frattiest” Campaign Ad Ever

Jeb Bush visited the University of Georgia on Saturday where he campaigned around fraternity row and shook some bro hands on game-day.

For anyone familiar with southern colleges, this is not at all surprising. The Greek System in the Deep South is typically conservative leaning.

But check out this Bush campaign video that could have been ripped straight off of Total Frat Move’s homepage.

One member of the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign thinks so too:

Alabama Man Successfully Crowdfunds So He Can Buy A 20 Piece McNugget Meal

It’s not everyday that you come across a real hero on the Internet. But today, you’ve found one.

Michael Panik, a communications student at Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama successfully used the crowdfunding site GoFundMe to raise $10 so he could buy himself a 20 piece Chicken McNugget meal at McDonalds.

Panik explained the motivations behind the campaign.

“A friend and mine were talking about all the ridiculous GoFundMe campaigns we’ve seen recently, basically people just asking for money to buy personal stuff: new equipment, software,” Panik said. “It’s pretty rude, honestly-just begging for money for things you want or need, that ultimately aren’t super expensive, and aren’t true necessities.”

Panik also said that he was a little bitter over the crowdfunding concept since he failed to raise money in the past on similar sites.

“I think that crowd funding is excellent, really, when used the right way,” Panik said. “I had a campaign for $10,000 to make a documentary fail back in the spring, and I’m a little bitter, but I think the concept is there. A lot of people do really spectacular things with money raised through GFM, Kickstarter, and others.”

Panik’s crowdfunding campaign for $10 was met in only a few hours. A man named Michael Brown gave him the money, saying “Enjoy!” in the comments.

His tongue firmly planted in his cheek, Panik thanked Brown.

“Michael Brown is a truly beautiful soul, devoted to philanthropy, and has the highest honor in my heart,” Panik said. “I sincerely hope to make him proud by using his generous donation to achieve my supreme goal.”

While not in class, Panik works as a web developer with Plexamedia, and as a technical director at a church in Rome, GA. He said that was primarily interested in filmmaking and was focused in producing documentaries. His first feature-length documentary, Thrift Store Symphony is in post-production and will premiere next fall.

“I’m so glad my Chicken McNugget scheme kind of took off just in my network, honestly, Panik said. “I’d love to see more people find this, and realize that maybe, if you want something, you should spend less time asking people for money, and going out there, working, and getting it for yourself.”

Panik wasn’t sure when he would be seeing his windfall.

“I’m not totally sure, but I hope it’s soon,” Panik said. “Ya boy is hungry.”

Miss Alabama Totally Flamed Donald Trump On National TV

I’m not going to pretend to have watched the Miss America pageant. But something somewhat interesting did take place late last night.

Miss Alabama Meg McGuffin- a 22-year-old Auburn University graduate had some choice words for the Republican front-runner Donald Trump.

Take a watch for yourself courtesy of the War Eagle Reader:

That comb over is ablaze. Well, not really. But at least her answer was better constructed that this:

Fear The Cowbell: Mississippi State Fan Proclaims That “Davis Wade Stadium Is The New Death Valley” In Rant Video

Paul Finebaum, the popular radio talk show host attracts some pretty interesting fans- and that’s being nice.

But in monitoring the Finebaum base, sometimes you come across some real gems. This is one of those moments.

Youtube user Stingray 26 is one bad man who loves his MSU Bulldogs.

Let’s just say I wouldn’t want to be stuck in a Starkville alleyway with this guy at night. It’s the mustache man.

Yeah, probably not. #SEC
